Recognizing the need for a premium consultancy firm steeped in doing business in Africa, AfricaGlobal Partners was founded in 1998 by Dr. Mima S. Nedelcovych, a Partner of the Schaffer Global Group, and the late David Miller, the Founding Executive Director of the Corporate Council on Africa. Dr. Nedelcovych is the former US Executive Director to the African Development Bank and is currently President and CEO of Initiative for Global Development, Chairman of Schaffer International Services, the successor company to the Schaffer Global Group, and a Board Director of EX-IM Global Partners, Lilium Capital, Guinea Gas, LLC, and Marathon International Bank.
From its base in Washington, DC, AfricaGlobal leverages networks and contacts worldwide — including commercial, financial and political interests — to assist private and public clients, and African Governments do better business with each other and the rest of the word.
Dr. Mima Nedelcovych has spent his whole professional life on the continent of Africa. Since leaving the post of US Executive Director to the African Development Bank, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Markala Sugar Project in Mali and served as the Chairman of the Société Sucrière de Markala. Currently, in addition to being the President of the Initiative for Global Development, he is advising clients such as the Exim Global Group and Guinea Gas, LLC in Guinea, SkyPower in West Africa, and Archetype in Morocco. Previously he was the Country Director in Liberia for Buchanan Renewables (BR) a renewable energy business based on biomass harvested and processed from old economically redundant rubber trees.
Dr. Nedelcovych served in the administration of US President George H.W. Bush from 1989 to 1993 as the US Executive Director to the African Development Bank (AfDB) in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. He was instrumental in formulating the "private sector initiative" at the AfDB, the African Business Roundtable and the African Export-Import Bank. Since leaving the AfDB, he has led the expansion of the Schaffer Global Group in agro-industrial and green energy project development throughout Africa, and established AfricaGlobal Partners as a premier project development company.
